Elephant Sculptural Art: Conservation and Creativity
A Cross-Curricular Art Lesson with Recycled Materials

Learning Objectives:
Visual Arts: Students created a 3-D elephant sculpture using mixed media, paint, collage materials, recycled cardboard and recycled wood blocks. Fostering creativity and expression.
Environmental Studies: Students learned the concept of environmental stewardship by using recycled materials to create their artwork, fostering an appreciation for sustainability.
Science: Students investigated the physical characteristics and habitat of elephants, fostering an understanding of wildlife and ecosystems.
Social Studies: Students explored the cultural significance of elephants in different societies, including their symbolism and role in various cultures; promoting empathy and understanding.
Our Kindergarten students embarked on an artistic and educational journey, diving into elephant conservation and creativity. From engaging discussions to collaborative art creation, our students embraced sustainability, wildlife conservation, and cultural understanding. This cross-curricular lesson nurtured creativity, environmental awareness, and empathy.
