Meet Bun, the free-spirited bunny who calls our sanctuary home!
Bun’s journey with us began in 2020 when she was transferred into our care from a shelter alongside 9 other bunnies. While her companions found loving homes, Bun’s independent spirit led her to choose a different path. This little lady is a bit feral and prefers the company of other creatures over bunnies and humans.

Despite her solitary nature, Bun has forged bonds with all the creatures on our farm. You’ll often find her hopping around the yard, checking in on the pigs, chickens, ducks, and even sneaking a taste of the cat food and chicken feed!

She’s a true explorer, with tunnels and underground pathways that connect her to different areas of the farm. Bun is so smart she knows how to use the cat door we have installed in our Aux barn so our feral cat community can come and go as they please during all hours of the day or night. We have a little ramp so that she can hop in and out of the barn through the cat door as she pleases.

While we sometimes worry about Bun’s safety, she’s proven to be a savvy survivor, navigating the vast acreage lands for the farm animals with ease. Her freedom to roam, forage, and explore is a beautiful sight to behold, a stark contrast to the confined lives many bunnies lead.

Bun’s story is a reminder of the resilience and adaptability of animals, and we are grateful to have her as a part of our sanctuary family.
