Meet Our Rescue Animals

Gypsy

Meet Gypsy, the magnificent Clydesdale horse with a heart of gold that lives on our farm. Rescued from a terrible situation, Gypsy has faced more challenges than most, but her spirit remains unbroken. Terrified of men, whips, thunder, and gunshots due to her past, Gypsy has found solace and safety in her new home.

Despite her struggles, Gypsy is a fighter. Thanks to the exceptional care of our vet and special treatments, her palliative condition, Chronic Progressive Lymphedema, is now in remission. Gypsy also has growths in her cervix so we appreciate each day we get with her. Currently, she still has an excellent quality of life.

Gypsy is on a special feed for senior horses as she is 27 years old. She loves fresh fruits and veggies like carrots, pumpkins, and apples. She also enjoys an excellent quality hay that keeps her healthy and strong.

Although Gypsy can’t be ridden due to her trauma, she adores being brushed and pet by her loving humans. But her true joy comes from her trusted companion, Donk, the donkey. They share an unbreakable bond and are inseparable. Whenever they are together, their love shines through, bringing warmth and joy to everyone around them.

When it’s time for Gypsy’s hoof care, getting her into the barn is a team effort. Donk leads the way, and Gypsy follows closely behind. Their heartwarming love match is proof of the healing power of companionship and the resilience of the heart.

Gypsy’s journey is a testament to the transformative power of love, compassion, and unwavering dedication. Together with Donk, she has found a place where she is cherished, and her indomitable spirit thrives. Their story is a reminder that with love and support, even the most broken souls can find healing and happiness.
